Navy EOD is almost synonymous with the "Bomb Squad" in the civilian world, but we do much more. In the Navy must first candidates for the EOD Dive School in Panama City, FL, then begin training early in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Fort Ann Go. Benning, GA, fighting in Coronado, CA, etc. ..
Navy EOD was formerly under the command of Special Operations Command (SOCOM), but recently had been assigned to the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). EOD can handle a wide range of military units and / or law enforcement agencies (Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Navy, ships, FBI, Homeland Security, etc.). In spite of this department to accept women in the ranks, women are not permitted, with SEAL teams or other units of the front-line combat to be associated.
Explosive is considered a "special operation", but again, if you ask people, you get different answers. Navy EOD is an Open qualifier at the time when the signing bonus is very high, and you can review more quickly than many other Navy ratings (not guaranteed). However, it is as easy as you think and winor "cancer" (PIN war NEM). To learn more about the Navy EOD, go to www.eod.navy.mil.

EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) are part of the special measures for the Navy. They will train in San Diego and physically restricted. The regiment of training is similar to that of seals and UDT. EEEP must be able to swim among many other titles. Its primary task is to eliminate obsticals explosives (mines, etc.) and to make room for a SEAL team to move if you plan DOE needs to go in extraordinary physical shape to be. These are the roads for the soldiers and officers.
